Iliac Venogram

Venography is a minimally invasive procedure used to assess venous patency and anatomy of the veins in your legs using a special medical dye and X-ray technology. The dye is usually injected in a vein in your upper thigh or foot.

Common indications for this examination include: DVT, recurrent DVT, pain and/or swelling of the leg(s) and/or non-healing wound.

Depending on your results, common treatment options can include: venous angioplasty and stenting, systemic anticoagulation medication; in more rare situations: IVC filter placement and throbolytic medication.
